US examples

  • An $8 top: flat fee $2.95, you earn $5.05. That is 37% of the sale.
  • A $40 dress: 20% = $8, you earn $32. If the dress cost you $10, your profit is $22.
  • A $150 handbag: 20% = $30, you earn $120.

Because the buyer pays for the prepaid shipping label in most cases, the fee is based on the item price only.

Since 1 October 2025, sellers in Texas also have a Texas Seller Fee Tax deducted from their earnings.

Canada examples

Poshmark Canada charges C$3.95 on sales under C$20 and 20% from C$20, and adds GST/HST to the fee at your province's rate.

  • A C$15 scarf, seller in Alberta (5% GST): C$3.95 + 5% = C$4.15, you earn C$10.85.
  • A C$25 sweater, seller in Ontario (13% HST): 20% = C$5.00, plus 13% HST = C$5.65, you earn C$19.35.

The flat fee makes cheap items expensive to sell

On a $10 item, the $2.95 flat fee is almost 30% of the sale. Two strategies help:

  1. Bundle cheap items. Two $10 items sold separately pay $5.90 in fees. Sold together as one $20 bundle, they pay 20% = $4. Offer a bundle discount to encourage buyers.
  2. Price small items just above the threshold where it makes sense. At $15 the fee is $3, almost the same as at $14 but on a higher price.

Poshmark vs other resale apps

On a $25 sale with no shipping, you keep:

AppYou keep
Poshmark$20.00
Mercari$22.50
Depop (US)about $23.73

Poshmark costs more, but its audience of fashion buyers and features such as Posh Parties and offers to likers can mean faster sales at better prices. Many resellers list on more than one app. See Poshmark vs Mercari vs Depop.

Tips to keep more on Poshmark

  1. Build bundles to spread the fee over more items.
  2. Factor the 20% into your buying. If you source items to resell, pay no more than you can afford after a 20% fee.
  3. Use offers wisely. Every discount reduces your earnings by 80% of the discount, not 100%.
  4. Track your profit per item, including what you paid and packaging costs.

The bottom line

Poshmark takes 20% of most sales and a flat fee on cheap ones. Price with that in mind, bundle low-value items and check every sale in the Poshmark fee calculator.

Fees in this guide were checked against Poshmark's US and Canada support pages in October 2026.
