Depop Fees 2026: Processing, Boosting and What You Keep
On this page
Depop removed its 10% selling fee for sellers in the US, UK and Australia, so many people now think selling on Depop is free. It isn't quite. Every sale still pays payment processing, and sales from Boosted listings pay a Boosting fee that can be bigger than the processing fee. This guide explains all Depop fees in 2026, with examples in each country.
Depop fees at a glance
| Fee | US | UK | Australia |
|---|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | None | None | None |

| Boosting fee (boosted sales only) | 12% | 12% | 8% |
- Processing is charged on the total the buyer pays: item price, shipping and any taxes.
- Boosting is charged on the item price plus shipping, or on the item price only if you used a Depop shipping label. The 12% rate applies to listings created from 23 March 2026.
- Buyers pay a separate marketplace fee at checkout, which does not come out of your payout.
Sellers outside the US, UK and Australia still pay a 10% selling fee plus processing.

Example: a $40 vintage tee in the US
A buyer pays $40 for the item, $5 shipping and 8% sales tax ($3.60), a total of $48.60.
- Processing: 3.3% × $48.60 + $0.45 = $2.05
- You receive: $45 − $2.05 = $42.95
If the sale came from a Boosted listing, add 12% of $45 = $5.40, and your payout drops to $37.55. If you used a Depop shipping label, Boosting is charged on the $40 item only ($4.80), leaving $38.15.
Example: a £20 skirt in the UK
The buyer pays £20 plus £3 postage.
- Processing: 2.9% × £23 + £0.30 = £0.97
- You receive £22.03.
Example: a A$50 dress in Australia
The buyer pays A$50 plus A$10 postage.
- Processing: 2.6% × A$60 + A$0.30 = A$1.86
- You receive A$58.14. If it was Boosted, the 8% Boosting fee (A$4.80) leaves A$53.34.

Is Boosting worth it?
Boosting puts your listing in front of more buyers, and you only pay when a boosted listing sells. The question is whether the extra sales are worth giving up 12% (8% in Australia).
- Worth testing for items with healthy margins that are sitting unsold.
- Usually not worth it for cheap items, or items that sell quickly anyway.
- Compare profit with and without Boosting in the calculator before you switch it on.
Don't forget your own costs
Your real profit is what's left after Depop's fees and your costs: what you paid for the item, postage if you offered free shipping, packaging and your time. If you source from charity shops or thrift stores, track what each item cost so you know your margin.
Tips to keep more of each Depop sale
- Charge realistic shipping. Processing applies to shipping too, but undercharging costs you more.
- Use Boosting selectively on items with room in the margin.
- Bundle items. One order pays one fixed processing fee.
- Price from your costs and fees, not just what similar items are listed at.
The bottom line
Depop is one of the cheapest resale apps in the US, UK and Australia, typically costing 3–5% of a sale, but Boosting can triple that. Check each sale in the Depop fee calculator and compare platforms in our Poshmark vs Mercari vs Depop guide.
Fees in this guide were checked against Depop's Help Centre in October 2026.
