Money decisions need correct numbers. This policy explains how Parishrament researches, checks and updates the fees, tax rates and formulas behind every calculator and guide.

Who is responsible

Every calculator and guide is built and maintained by Saurabh Pandey, a web developer and e-commerce consultant who sets up and runs online stores for clients. Learn more about Saurabh Pandey.

Where the numbers come from

  • Official sources only. Fees come from each platform's own fee policy and help pages (for example Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy, eBay's selling fees pages and Shopify's pricing pages). Tax rates come from government sources such as GOV.UK, the Australian Taxation Office, Inland Revenue (NZ), the Canada Revenue Agency and India's CBIC.
  • Linked and dated. Every fee table on the Website names the pages it was checked against and shows the date it was last verified.
  • No guesses presented as facts. Where a platform does not publish a fixed rate (for example marketplace commissions that vary by category), the calculator asks you to enter it instead of pre-filling a number, and example rates are labelled as examples.

How often fees are re-checked

Each fee table is re-checked at least every 90 days. Our admin system flags any table that has not been verified within that period. We also re-check immediately when a platform announces a fee change or a reader reports one.

How the calculators are tested

  • Each calculator's formula is written out on its page so you can check it yourself.
  • The worked examples on each page are calculated from the same fee tables as the calculator, so they update automatically when a fee changes.
  • Before any update goes live, an automated test runs every calculator through dozens of cases and compares the results with hand-checked answers.

Use of AI tools

AI assistants may help draft or edit text and check code. Every fee, rate and example is verified by a person against the official source before publishing, and we remain fully responsible for what we publish.

Advertising and independence

Advertising never influences results. Ads are served by Google AdSense, are labelled, and are kept away from the calculators' inputs, results and buttons. We are not paid by Etsy, eBay, Shopify or any other platform we cover.

Corrections

If you find a fee that has changed, a wrong result or an outdated statement, tell us through the contact page or at saurabh@zxnova.com. Reported errors are checked and fixed first, and the "last verified" date is updated when a table is re-checked.
