How to use the checker
- Type the focus keyword people search for, e.g. “gst calculator for sellers”.
- Paste your SEO title and meta description from Rank Math, Yoast, Shopify or any CMS.
- Add the page URL to check the slug.
- Fix anything marked with ✕ or ! and watch the Google preview update.
Best practices for titles and descriptions
- Title: about 50–60 characters. Google cuts titles by pixel width (around 580px), so wide letters and CAPITALS use up space faster.
- Description: about 120–160 characters. Summarise the page and give a reason to click.
- Put the main keyword near the start of the title, and use it naturally once in the description.
- Write a unique title and description for every page – never copy the same text across pages.
- Keep URLs short and readable, e.g.
/gst-calculator/.
Frequently asked questions
Will Google always show my meta description?
Not always. Google sometimes writes its own snippet from your page content if it better matches the search. A clear, relevant description still gives you the best chance.
Does a perfect score guarantee ranking?
No. Titles and descriptions help Google and searchers understand your page, but rankings mostly depend on helpful content, good user experience and links.
