Many towns around Rhode Island are kicking off their 4th of July celebrations (and the long weekend) one day early with firework shows on July 3.
Thunderstorms that have swept through the region this evening have canceled some of the shows planned for tonight, including Bristol and East Providence. Other communities, such as Warwick, Narragansett and North Kingstown have confirmed their shows are still no.

Warwick
When: Thursday, July 3 from 9-9:30 p.m.
Where: Oakland Beach, Oakland Beach Ave., Warwick, RI
Details: The main parking area for the fireworks display will be on the O’Hara Baseball field, with secondary parking at the Oakland Beach Boat ramp or on nearby streets. Warwick City Park on Asylum Road will also provide a great view of the show.
On the Facebook page Mayor Frank Picozzi, the mayor confirmed that fireworks are still a go as of 8:30 p.m.
